The Grading of Locks explained.

Compliments of D. Cerda Locksmith

Perhaps you have seen the designation ANSI and never given much thought as to what, or whom, it represents. ANSI is an acronym for The American National Standards Institute.

The American National Standards Institute is a private and non-profit organization, founded in 1918. The institute has a worldwide reach, and their goal is to provide a framework for fair standards and quality conformity assessment systems while protecting their integrity. Spanning every industry, the institute also establishes a grading system for locks.

The grading system pertains to the lifespan of locks. D. Cerda Locksmith, a Kissimmee locksmith, offers locks that are graded and ranked by the ANSI.

Lock grades are assigned to help consumers determine which products will provide the best value for their needs. The lock grades range from 3 to 1. Grade 3 locks represent a basic security level, and 1 is reserved for elevated security.

Grading illustrates how long a consumer can expect the product to perform over its lifespan. Lower rated locks are not expected to last as long as higher rated systems. While lower rated locks will generally be less expensive, the old adage that “you get what you pay for” could not be more relevant than in this case.

As an experienced Kissimmee locksmith, D. Cerda Locksmith can provide lock systems of all grades and qualities. Even though a Grade 3 lock can cost less upfront, it is likely that it will need to be replaced more regularly. Further, a lower grade lock will not offer as much security as a more highly rated system. Is this an area of home or business care that you can afford to skimp on?

A more highly rated lock can provide a greater deterrent to intruders and protect your family, your home, your business, and your possessions. Burglaries happen to properties that do not possess systems that discourage thieves. Home and business intruders are known to take a path of least resistance, so when you need a Kissimmee locksmith to create a proper home security plan, D. Cerda Locksmith is at your service and will provide you with Grade A service.
